What are PFAS?

Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are a large group of man-made chemicals, and among them, PFOA and PFOS are the most discussed PFAS. These chemicals are characterized by a chain of carbon atoms bonded to fluorine atoms, which makes them highly resistant to heat, water, and oil. This resistance to breakdown, combined with their strong chemical stability, gives PFAS the nickname “forever chemicals.”

Haycarb PFAS removal carbon “5000 series” outperforms traditional bituminous coal-based carbons in removing various PFAS compounds, including PFOA, PFOS, PFBS, PFPeS, PFHxS, PFHpS, PFHxA, and PFHpA. Our product is engineered to target low-level contaminants at the ppt/ppb levels, and it purifies water to the required industry standards. Independent Testing Confirms Superior PFAS Removal Capabilities:

To ensure the effectiveness of our PFAS removal solutions, we conducted a Granular Carbon Selection Test (GCST) which evaluated various grades of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) for their adsorption performance on both short- and long-chain PFAS compounds. The tests, performed with 12×40-sized activated carbon, demonstrated outstanding adsorption behavior, reaffirming our commitment to delivering high-performance solutions for water treatment.
