At Haycarb, we believe that the future starts with investing in our people today.
With the rapid pace of digitization across industries, the ability to work smarter, adapt faster and utilize technology more effectively has become critical to business success making AI literacy in the workplace increasingly important. Recognising this, Haycarb recently conducted a “Work Smarter: Everyday AI Skills” training programme for its employees, led by our Managing Director, Mr. Rajitha Kariyawasan. With a focus on helping employees understand how artificial intelligence is used in real-life situations, this session provided a chance for teams to think about how digital technologies could be used to develop more intelligent, more efficient and more impactful ways of working.
Embracing Digital Transformation at Haycarb
In the face of changing industries, digital readiness is becoming more vital to the way businesses are run, the way they collaborate with each other, and the way they compete with each other. Haycarb understands that embracing AI and digital technologies is also about enhancing the way we work, the way we solve problems and the way we are prepared to face the future.
The “Work Smarter: Everyday AI Skills” training programme was a good start in this direction. The training programme aimed to help employees understand the available AI technologies, which can be used to enhance our work in different ways, such as making work easier, improving the way we communicate with each other, better organizing our work, or making ideas more easily available.
This is just the start of a larger movement to build a workplace that is agile, digital, and future-ready.

Strengthening Operations Through Digital Competencies
Digital competency is increasingly emerging as an important part of operational excellence in every aspect of the business. This ranges from internal coordination and reporting to planning, analysis, communication, and customer interactions. This is where digital competency can make a big difference.
Through the development of practical AI literacy and digital competency among employees, they can engage in activities with greater speed, accuracy, and efficiency. This not only frees up time for employees to engage in more critical thinking and decision-making activities, but also creates space for greater collaboration.
In the long term, this can help organizations develop better discipline in their processes, greater productivity, and more agile ways of working. These are increasingly important aspects of the rapidly changing business environment.
Investing in People Through Everyday Capability Building
One of the greatest strengths of this initiative is that it made AI not only accessible but also relevant and relatable to everyday work.
This programme took employees through various ways that AI could be used to make everyday work easier. This is where employees were able to shift from being curious about AI to actually thinking about how they could benefit from it.
In digital capability building at Haycarb, we do not only focus on skill-building but also on employee upskilling that supports long-term growth and adaptability. Digital capability building also involves giving employees the confidence to work with new tools and to embrace change.
Supporting ACTIVATE 2030 Through the INSPIRE Pillar
The initiative is also closely related to our ACTIVATE 2030 ESG Roadmap, particularly under the INSPIRE – People & Culture pillar that focuses on improving people systems, enhancing capability, and creating a supportive work environment.
INSPIRE is essentially about enabling our people to succeed by providing opportunities for growth, learning, and development. “Work Smarter: Everyday AI Skills” is a prime example of this.
By providing employees with an environment where they can explore new digital tools and develop new skills, Haycarb contributes to increased productivity and invests in the long-term strength and flexibility of its workforce.
