Sea turtle conservation is an initiative very close to our hearts on this island-nation of Sri Lanka. In October 2020, Haycarb’s environmental engineering arm, Puritas with the guidance of the Department of Wildlife Conservation, undertook the “Behold the Turtle” project in Kirigalbay beach of the Kumana National Park.

We are celebrating our third anniversary since the inception of this project. We have now found more than 5,500 sea turtle eggs over the 2022/23 nesting season, with more than 4,000 baby turtles being safely released to the ocean.

We invite naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts to join us on this journey to ‘Behold the Turtle’ for the 2023/24 season.
