Haycarb Launches 100,000 Cococonut Tree Planting Initiative
Haycarb is excited to announce our commitment to plant 100,000 coconut trees in Northern Sri Lanka, spanning Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, and Jaffna, as part of a national initiative to establish a second coconut triangle. Phase One commenced in Iyakachchi, Jaffna, with the distribution of 25,000 coconut seedlings. The event was graced by the Honorable Mrs. P.S.M. Charles, Governor of the Northern province, Dr. Madhavi Herath, Chairperson of the Coconut Cultivation Board, Prof. Roshan Perera, Chairman of the Coconut Development Authority, Rajitha Kariyawasan, Managing Director of Haycarb PLC, and our esteemed Board of Directors.
In tandem, as an expansion of our pioneering ‘Haritha Angara’ green charcoaling initiative, we proudly donated an eco-friendly pit in direct response to the Civil Security Department (CSD) request through the Coconut Development Authority (CDA). This donation aims to support the advancement of the charcoaling industry in the northern region. This contribution holds special significance as it aligns with the commemoration of our 50th anniversary, reinforcing our unwavering commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
