Demonstrating a strong commitment to education and uplifting the youth of Sri Lanka, Haycarb recently donated 100 laptops for the second consecutive year, to economically challenged students across seven state universities. By investing in essential educational tools, Haycarb is not only addressing current needs but also laying the groundwork for long-term success, equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills and technology necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital and competitive world.
The event marked a significant milestone for the students involved and was attended by Haycarb’s Managing Director, Mr. Rajitha Kariyawasan, along with the company directors and senior leadership team.The presence of distinguished academic figures, such as Prof. Sujeewa Amarasena, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna; Professor Amila Sirisena, Director of the Distance and Continuing Education Unit at the University of Ruhuna; Dr. Mahesh Fernando, Senior Lecturer and Director of Student Welfare at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura; and Dr. Inoka Manthilaka, Senior Lecturer and Chief Student Counsellor at the University of Moratuwa, highlighted the importance of this generous donation.
Students from the University of Colombo, the University of Jaffna, the University of Ruhuna, the University of Peradeniya, the University of Moratuwa, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the University of Kelaniya, were present at the event. This broad representation highlights the far-reaching impact of Haycarb’s initiative, demonstrating a commitment to reducing educational inequalities and enhancing digital literacy.
Haycarb is also aligning with broader societal goals of giving equitable access to higher education, fostering innovation and building a prosperous and educated Sri Lanka.
